  • This one day symposium will convene industry, government, and academia to discuss the current state of Stationary Fuel Cell development and deployment in the U. S.
Presentation topics include:
  • ◾ Fuel Cells for GHG Reduction
  • ◾ Improving Local Air Quality with Fuel Cells
  • ◾ Replacing Diesel Generators
  • ◾ Grid Support and Balancing Intermittent
        Renewables
  • ◾ Creating Resiliency with Fuel Cell Systems
       and Microgrids
  • Who should attend?
  • Those involved in or associated with the generation, transmission, and utilization of electricity, and/or the electrification of the transportation sector.

Presented by the:
National Fuel Cell Research Center

The National Fuel Cell Research Center (NFCRC) was dedicated in 1998 by the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission with the goal to accelerate the development and deployment of advanced fuel cell technology and systems.

Notable NFCRC projects include the tri-generation of bio-hydrogen, the hybridization of fuel cells with gas turbines, and the deployment of hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The NFCRC is located on campus at the University of California, Irvine. Please visit our website at www.nfcrc.uci.edu

In Collaboration with the:
California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative

Founded in June 2001, the California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative (CaSFCC) is a public-private partnership working to advance the deployment of stationary fuel cells for distributed generation and other applications throughout the state of California. It is co-chaired by Mary D. Nichols, chair of the California Air Resources Board, and Professor Scott Samuelsen, director of the National Fuel Cell Research Center (NFCRC) at the University of California, Irvine. The Collaborative is administered by the California Air Resources Board. For more information, please visit casfcc.org.

Optional Pre-Symposium Workshop:
“Fuel Cells 101”

Tuesday, June 26, 2018
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location:  California Museum, 1020 O Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

This short course is presented by The Fuel Cell Technology Institute (FCTI), the educational outreach program of the National Fuel Cell Research Center. The workshop will address the basics of fuel cell technology, the spectrum of fuel cell types, stationary and mobile fuel cell markets, and the role of fuel cell technology in complementing and managing a high-penetration of intermittent renewable wind and solar power into the grid.
