About the colloquium
ICEPAG 2008 is a three-day international colloquium focused on “Advanced Power Generation: 10 Megawatts to 1,000 Megawatts” with emphasis on (1) Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) systems and component technology, (2) Integrated Gasification Fuel Cell (IGFC) systems and component technology, (3) associated technologies including CO2 Sequestration and Grid Ramifications, (4) near-term technologies for existing coal assets including Oxy Combustion, (4) Large Fuel Cell and Fuel Cell/Gas Turbine Hybrid Systems, and (6) Large Renewable Deployment.
Particular attention is directed to (1) the emerging international activity; (2) the development of the international market for IGCC and IGFC technologies, as well as fuel cell/gas turbine technology; and (3) the potential for cooperation and collaboration among participating countries. Applications of interest focus on central power generation, complemented by distributed generation. The colloquium features a series of presentations on the technological, environmental, regulatory, and market aspects of central plant power including the production of transportation fuels.
An optional fuel cell/gas turbine hybrid short course is scheduled for the afternoon of January 28 to allow those interested to garner essential background on the fundamentals, design, deployment history, and operating characteristics of hybrid fuel cell/gas turbine systems.
