CURRENT PROJECT(S)

SOFC Materials Development
Investigate the synthesis and manufacturing techniques for novel solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) materials. Strontium- and magnesium-doped lanthanum gallate (LSGM: La1-xSrxGa1-yMgyO3-z ) materials for the SOFC electrolyte are analyzed for high ionic conductivity and stability at 800C. Composites with LSGM-based materials are considered for SOFC anode and cathode. Those material composites should exhibit mixed electronic and ionic conductivities, structural stability, and low coefficients of thermal expansion mismatch with the electrolyte at SOFC operating conditions.

Modeling of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell
Finite element modeling using COMSOL computational tool to simulate the dynamics and interactions of electrochemical, internal reformation, and coke formation kinetics on Anode-Supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell.
